According to an investigation by Space. com, which interviewed nearly a dozen current and former NASA workers and reviewed internal agency communications, this premature implementation has put several high-profile missions at risk.
The GSFC is home to around 10,000 scientists and engineers, with approximately 7,000 employed through NASA contractors. The center's workforce has expressed concerns about the new administration's stance on science, which they perceive as hostile. The center's staff has been working on several ambitious new missions, including the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA), and the Venus atmospheric probe DAVINCI.
