Thousands Of Potential UFOs Detected In 1950s Astronomical Photographs

Published by New York Post:

In a groundbreaking revelation, astronomer Beatriz Villarroel from the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics has uncovered thousands of potential UFOs in photographs taken in the 1950s, long before satellites dotted the sky. According to two peer-reviewed scientific papers, Villarroel and her team analyzed roughly 2,000 photographic plates taken between 1949 and 1958 at the Palomar Observatory in California. These vinyl-record-sized plates, used for the Palomar Sky Survey, were the primary method of recording astronomical images at the time.

Using machine learning and imaging processing software, the researchers detected 107,000 transient lights that resemble, but are not, fixed stars in the night sky. These transients, or fleeting star-like objects of unknown origin, could potentially represent visitors from a far-off planet. Villarroel's team found a "small positive correlation" between UAP sightings and transients, which was "well beyond chance." This correlation suggests that some transients could be unidentified aerial phenomena in Earth orbit that might stimulate UAP sightings.

Significantly, these photographs were taken before the launch of any man-made satellites or other crafts into Earth's orbit. The findings, published in Nature's Scientific Reports and the Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, ← →

A pair of new peer-reviewed scientific papers claim to have detected the presence of UFOs in photographs taken in the 1950s.
