The construction site of the future is already here as homes, office buildings and industrial sites go up around the country. Robots that can lay bricks, put up drywall and tie rebar are pitching in at a time when the construction industry is in major flux.

Green comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) flyby explained | Popular Science

A little night sky geometry helped predict exactly when the comet would swing by on its 50,000-year trip.

The last time Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) passed by Earth, our human cousins the Neanderthals still roamed the Earth.

Discovered in March 2022 by US-based astronomers, the comet, which sports an emerald green coma, is believed to have last passed through the inner solar system some 50,000 years ago.

Planets, stars provide something to count on | MyRGV.com

Time is flying; the hours of daylight are extending and the color green is reappearing in the trees. The constellations and planets are moving in their appropriate patterns at their usual predictable pace. It is good to have something we can count on.

Cold clear winter nights are best for stargazing and the winter constellations are wonderful to observe. The winter hexagon asterism is composed of bright stars selected from particular constellations; it is a special treat.

Our favorite dwarf planet and why we're so attached - The Aggie

Feb. 18 will mark the 93rd anniversary of the discovery of Pluto (the dwarf planet, not the cartoon dog). There's no denying that the little planet holds a special place in many people’s hearts.

In the early 1900s, astronomers noticed that Neptune had a slight wobble in its orbit and thought that there may be a ninth planet causing it. After years of unsuccessful searching, Clyde Tombaugh discovered the mysterious object we call Pluto in 1930.

Ah, the time really helps narrow it down. Most likely Jupiter, since it appeared closer to the Moon, but maybe Venus, which is much brighter.
