GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The June full moon will fall on June 5 at 3:12 p.m. Though we won’t have a view of the moon at the exact moment it’s full, it will appear full on June 4 and June 5.
The full moon in June is also known as the Strawberry Moon, the Rose Moon and the Hot Moon. In the Southern Hemisphere, where the arrival of June marks the arrival of longer nights and shorter days, the June full moon is known as the Long Night Moon.

Based in Colorado, they travel the world hunting for iconic kitchen items crafted by local artisans. The two discovered the cleavers in the Aranyik village north of Bangkok, where the knives were traditionally used to cut pork in the markets.

Have you ever seen the Moon during the day? Our satellite is generally assumed by most people to be visible only during darkness, but every month the Moon is visible during daylight for the exactly the same time as it is at night.
Although it's almost always possible to see the Moon during the day for at least a short time, the best and easiest time to see the Moon is this week, when it's getting brighter as it waxes towards its "full" phase on Friday, June 5, 2020. It will be visible in the afternoon. Next week is also good; the Moon will be waning, but still bright, and "up" in the morning until lunchtime.

T his week's astronomical event will be easy to see but hardly anyone will notice it. On 5 June, the full moon will clip the outer portion of Earth's shadow, creating a penumbral lunar eclipse. This is much subtler than a total lunar eclipse, in which the moon appears to turn red as it passes through the darkest part of Earth's shadow, situated right behind our planet.
This week's alignment is rendered even more subtle by the fact that only half the moon will be in shadow. The eclipse starts at 18:46 BST and ends at 22:04 BST. The moment of greatest eclipse is 20:25 BST. It will be visible from most of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and the East coast of South America. The chart shows the view looking south the night before, around midnight, when the moon will pass close pass to the red star, Antares.

In the year 2024, NASA plans to send astronauts 239,000 miles to the moon. It will be the first time since 1972 that humans have touched down on Earth's only natural satellite. The mission will also include the first woman to travel to the moon.
NASA will have a cool new tool to help it with this mission: the Unified Geologic Map of the Moon. This is a topographical map — that is, it shows physical features, such as the height of mountains and the depth of valleys. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) calls it the "definitive blueprint of the moon's surface geology."

Following the historic events of the combined NASA /SpaceX launch over the weekend, a photographer has captured a remarkable image of the International Space Station carrying astronauts Bob Behnken and Douglas Hurley whizzing past the moon .
The composite image, taken by Italian photographer Alberto Ghizzi Panizza, came from a video he also took that shows the ISS at 17 different points as it sails across the moon, British news agency SWNS reports.
