If you were looking in the skies above Manchester on Tuesday night, you might have seen some strange lights.
WMUR received a lot of phone calls and Facebook messages about the lights, so we decided to check it out for ourselves.

Pilot captures incredible cloud formation over Otago | Otago Daily Times Online News
Pilot Geoff Beckett was flying over the Otago region heading to Invercargill when he spotted the lenticular cloud.
He told the Herald he's never seen anything more impressive in his years of aviation, and told cabin crew to alert passengers of the spectacular sight.

The National UFO Reporting Center has been logging UFO sightings across the nation since 1930. The center is a privately-run organization with no ties to the U.S. government. It categorizes the sightings by year and month, asks for the date, time, city and state of the sighting; shape, duration of the sighting and asks for a summary of your experience. According to their database, there have been 20 reported sightings on Staten Island since 2015.

But the strangest thing about the footage, is that in the context of 2020, it almost seems boring. You'd think the Pentagon officially releasing UFO footage would break the internet (all it used to take was a photo of Kim Kardashian's bottom), but nowadays, the internet has become jaded to all but the most Earth-shattering event.

An F-89C Scorpion jet, from Truax Air Force Base in Madison, Wisconsin, took off from nearby Kinross AFB to investigate, with two crew members on board.
Navy Reports Describe Encounters With Unexplained Flying Objects - The New York Times
Navy fighter pilots reported close encounters with unidentified aerial vehicles, including several dangerously close, in eight incidents between June 27, 2013, and Feb. 13, 2019, according to documents recently released by the Navy.
Two happened on one day, according to one of eight unclassified Navy safety reports released in response to requests filed under the Freedom of Information Act by news outlets, including The New York Times.
Last month the Defense Department authenticated three videos of aerial encounters previously published by The Times, accompanying accounts of Navy pilots who reported such close encounters.
