Firefighting Foam Concerns in Severn River Headwaters – Chesapeake Bay Magazine

Severn River advocates called it a UFO: unidentified floating object. And it does look a bit alien: a giant froth of foam bubbling up from a waterway that feeds into the river.

The bubbly substance spotted October 7 was coming down Bear Branch in Millersville, headed towards the river, according to the Severn River Association. It looked similar to firefighting foam, a chemical concentration usually mixed with water to fight liquid fires, like those on gasoline truck or at a marina. The foam contains PFAs, chemicals that can pollute waterways and are suspected carcinogens.

Not to change the topic here:

What is the Bridgewater Triangle anyway?

TAUNTON — The ghost stories, personal accounts and folklore that make up the legend of the Bridgewater Triangle are too vast to ever fit in a single book, though many devoted investigators of the triangle have tried meticulously to record them.

They encompass what can only be described as a smorgasbord of the paranormal, cryptozoological and just plain weird. In fact one of the most baffling parts of the Triangle legends has to be the range of strange sightings said to be a part of this enigmatic approximately 200 square mile area of the Bay State.
