LOUDONVILLE -- On Oct. 18, 1973, north central ohio residents witnessed strange lights in the sky to the west over Charles Mill Lake.
The next morning they were shocked to hear that they weren't the only ones -- a military helicopter flying near Mansfield also reported the lights in what is now known as the Coyne Incident. According to the Center for UFO Studies, the Coyne Incident is now considered the most credible incident in a wave of sightings in 1973.

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas dropped out of The Associated Press men's college basketball poll for the first time in 12 years on Monday, ending the Jayhawks' record streak of 231 consecutive weeks ranked in the Top 25.
Gonzaga and Baylor held down the top two spots, just as they have all season, with the Bulldogs getting 55 of 63 first-place votes and the Bears getting the other eight. Michigan took advantage of Villanova's loss at St. John's to jump into the top three, rival Ohio State climbed three spots to No. 4 and the Wildcats rounded out the top 5.

A mysterious metal "obelisk" found buried in the remote western United States desert has inflamed the imaginations of UFO spotters, conspiracy theorists and Stanley Kubrick fans around the world.
The shiny, triangular pillar – which protrudes approximately 12 feet from the red rocks of southern Utah – was spotted last Wednesday by baffled local officials counting bighorn sheep from the air.
Landing to investigate, Utah Department of Public Safety crew members found "a metal monolith installed in the ground" but "no obvious indication of who might have put the monolith there."

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Dozens of people reported a possible meteor lighting up the morning sky Wednesday across Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
"It became extremely bright and then fizzled out after a half second," one observer wrote from Mason.
"This was a very rare experience that I am happy I got to witness," reads another from Springdale. "It looked like something sparked a fire in the air and then it turned bright blue and fell from the sky."

It was just five days before Hallowe’en when Jim Blackwood, a 25-year-old constable at the RCMP detachment in the Town of Clarenville, got a report of a strange aircraft hovering over Random Island.
In an interview with SaltWire in 2016, Blackwood said he assumed it was a simple case of someone letting their imagination get the better of them.
Blackwood headed down to the Clarenville waterfront, and what he saw is still talked about to this day.
