EarthSky | Saturn at opposition August 1-2, near Jupiter

When viewed through a telescope, Saturn is our solar system’s most glorious planet. But, to the eye, Saturn isn’t as noticeable as bright Jupiter . Luckily, we’re still less than a year past the great conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter. It happened on December 21, 2020.

Earth’s faster motion in orbit brings Saturn to opposition once each year. Opposition is a big yearly milestone for observing the ringed planet Saturn, or any outer planet. It happens when we on Earth fly between that planet and the sun.

Star Wars: The 10 Best Planets In The Franchise | ScreenRant

The primary selling point of the Star Wars saga is the sense of pure escapism that the movies provide. For two hours, audiences can be transported to a galaxy far, far away from all their real-world problems.

Not every planet in Star Wars is all that exciting – Jakku is derivative of Tatooine, while the open fields of Naboo are often jokingly compared to the Windows XP wallpaper – but there are a bunch of great worlds as well.

An undated image, taken with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), in which the European Southern Observatory is a partner, shows wide (left) and close-up (right) views of the moon-forming disc surrounding PDS 70c, a young Jupiter-like planet nearly 400 light-years away.

July 22 (Reuters) - Scientists for the first time have spotted a moon-forming region around a planet beyond our solar system - a Jupiter-like world surrounded by a disk of gas and dust massive enough that it could spawn three moons the size of the one orbiting Earth.
