This fun solar system model would be awesome for homeschool, daycare, and at-home preschools. It's easy and fun for kids to color the different planets according to pictures they've seen in a story you read or on a poster you've presented!
Even our littlest scientists can start learning about the solar system, start this project with a book for students. Little kiddos absolutely love sensory play. Incorporate some STEM learning at a young age with a sensory activity for kids like this .
Nasa thinks there may be a HIDDEN 'Planet 9' lurking in Solar System – here's why
A FABLED "Planet Nine" may be lurking in the outer reaches of our Solar System – and Nasa is on a mission to hunt it down.
The distant world is thought to be up to ten times the mass of Earth and orbits just out of reach of our telescopes.
However, it has never been directly observed and remains a topic of controversy among astronomers, many of whom believe that it does not exist.
ACC to build 20-MW rooftop solar system in China
January 26 (Renewables Now) - Clean energy solutions provider Asia Clean Capital Investment Holdings Ltd (ACC) today announced that it inked a deal with China's Xianju Lanwan Medical Industry Town Development Co Ltd to install 20 MW of solar power generating capacity.
Under the framework agreement, ACC will install photovoltaic (PV) arrays on the roofs and idle lands of both foreign and local enterprises in the Xianju Economic Development Area.
EarthSky | A plan to chase down the 1st-known interstellar visitor
In 2017, astronomers uttered a jubilant hurrah as they confirmed the first-known interstellar visitor – the first known visitor from another star system – to our solar system. They named the object ‘Oumuamua , which means first distant messenger (in Hawaiian).
So they don’t know for sure what ‘Oumuamua was. A shard of an exoplanet ? A comet spawned by another star? An alien spacecraft ? ‘Oumuamua is now outside the range of earthly telescopes, never to be seen again … or is it?
Battery backup buying guide: Here's everything you need to know - CNET
During a power outage, having a backup power source can make a massive difference for your comfort and safety. In the past, that usually would have meant using a propane- or gasoline-powered generator. But today, there are much cleaner alternatives to generators, including backup battery systems.
Nation's environmental leaders urge Governor Newsom to save solar | Environment America
SAN FRANCISCO – As the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) considers gutting the state's bedrock solar program, a broad coalition of national and state environmental organizations delivered a letter Wednesday to CPUC commissioners and Gov.
The letter is in response to the CPUC's proposed decision on net metering, a program that compensates solar customers for the extra electricity they send back to the electricity grid.
Solar Orbiter catches a second comet by the tail
The encounter captured information about the particles and magnetic field present in the tail of the comet.
The crossing had been predicted by Samuel Grant, a post graduate student at University College London's Mullard Space Science Laboratory.
"I ran it with Comet Leonard and Solar Orbiter with a few guesses for the speed of the solar wind. And that's when I saw that even for quite a wide range of solar wind speeds it seemed like there would be a crossing," he says.
Worlds of snow and ice | The Planetary Society
Assistant Professor of Engineering and Director of the Meyer Ice Mechanics Group at Dartmouth College
From Venus to Pluto, our solar system contains a myriad of planets, moons and other bodies whose surfaces are covered in snow and ice made of water and other exotic stuff. Saturn's moon Enceladus is among the most intriguing.
