Northrop Grumman’s 17th Cygnus resupply mission arrived at the International Space Station on Monday, delivering 8,300 pounds (3,765 kilograms) of scientific experiments, food and other supplies.
NASA astronaut Raja Chari captured the vehicle at 4:44 a.m. EST (0944 GMT) with the space station 's robotic arm, while the two spacecraft flew over the Indian Ocean. A little over two hours later, at 7:02 a.m.
NASA's gamma-ray observatory is back in action after technical glitch | Space
NASA's Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory is back to science operations as of Thursday (Feb. 17), following a glitch more than a month ago.
"The spacecraft and its three instruments are healthy and operating as expected," NASA said. "The team is monitoring the spacecraft's performance as Swift resumes its mission to study the high-energy universe," the agency added.
Welcome to the Future of Science Education in America - SPONSOR CONTENT
Evolution is a fact of natural science. But how often do we think about the fact that science — or rather science education — is itself evolving?
In recent years, however, the best science educators and the most forward-thinking school districts have begun to embrace a more inquiry-based approach: one focused on collaboration, student-led problem solving, and a hands-on, investigative understanding of the methods and aims of professional
James Webb Space Telescope will do a galaxy deep dive into the dust | Space
One of the James Webb Space Telescope 's first studies will seek to tell us more about 19 nearby galaxies and how they fit into our neighborhood's history.
The infrared images taken from deep space will allow Webb's data to add galactic information about star formation, strong winds blowing off these stars to disturb gas and dust, and mature stars potentially hiding in spiral galaxies.
NASA successfully retests moon rocket core stage engines after fault | Space
All core stage rocket engines on NASA's moon rocket performed as expected in a recent series of tests that followed a replacement of a faulty control mechanism in one of those engines, the agency said.
A faulty controller on the RS-25 engine number 4 forced the space agency to delay its upcoming uncrewed moon mission, Artemis I , which will mark the beginning of humanity's return to the moon .
Massive explosion on far side of the sun could have been catastrophic for Earth | WGN-TV
PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A major eruption on the far side of the sun Tuesday created one of the largest coronal mass ejections ( CME ) in recent years.
With an eruption of this magnitude, the Earth dodged a bullet — quite literally according to Jim Todd, the Director of Space Science Education at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

Space Missions To Watch: A Lunar Return, a Jupiter Moon, and the Most Powerful Rocket Ever Built
Rockets turn their fuel into momentum that carries people, satellites, and science itself forward into space. 2021 was a year full of records for space programs around the world, and that momentum is carrying forward into 2022.
In total, in 2021 there were 134 launches that put humans or satellites into orbit – the highest number in the entire history of spaceflight . Nearly 200 orbital launches are scheduled for 2022. If things go well, this will smash last year’s record.
