Thailand plans ‘Space Technology Lab’ in Chiang Rai - Pattaya Mail

The House committee on telecommunications and the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) are pushing for a space technology laboratory in Wiang Pa Pao district of Chiang Rai province.

The facility could also help the assessment of disaster impacts and issue warnings on possible disasters to people. It could support farmland management and develop young people into space technology professionals in the future, Col Settapong said. (TNA)

Rocket Arrives in California for NASA Launch of Polar-Orbiting Satellite – Parabolic Arc

VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. (NOAA PR) — Flight hardware for the United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V 401 rocket slated to launch the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Joint Polar Satellite System-2 (JPSS-2) has arrived in California.

JPSS-2 is the third satellite in the Joint Polar Satellite System series and is designed to scan the Earth as it orbits from the North to the South Pole, crossing the equator 14 times a day to provide full global coverage twice a day.

BlueHalo opens new manufacturing facility in ABQ - Albuquerque Journal

A facility to manufacture directed energy weapons and satellite components opened Thursday near Kirtland Air Force Base – the latest addition to the local space industry.

Virginia-based engineering firm BlueHalo LLC opened a 73,000-square-foot research and development, manufacturing and office space within Sandia Science and Technology Park, which is located just off the northeast part of KAFB.
