A Radiative-Convective Model For Terrestrial Planets With Self-Consistent Patchy Clouds - ...

Clouds are ubiquitous – they arise for every solar system planet that possesses an atmosphere and have also been suggested as a leading mechanism for obscuring spectral features in exoplanet observations.

As exoplanet observations continue to improve, there is a need for efficient and general planetary climate models that appropriately handle the possible cloudy atmospheric environments that arise on these worlds.

Planetary System Around LTT 1445A Unveiled By ESPRESSO: Multiple Planets In A Triple M-dwarf ...

We present radial velocity follow-up obtained with ESPRESSO of the M-type star LTT 1445A (TOI-455), for which a transiting planet b with an orbital period of~5.4 days was detected by TESS.

We report the discovery of a second transiting planet (LTT 1445A c) and a third non-transiting candidate planet (LTT 1445A d) with orbital periods of 3.12 and 24.30 days, respectively. The host star is the main component of a triple M-dwarf system at a distance of 6.9 pc.

Planet Formation Doesn't Have to be a Rush job After all - Universe Today

Astronomers believe that it can take 10 million years or more to build a planet like the Earth. But studies of protoplanetary disks show that they can only last 1 to 3 million years. How can planet formation finish if the material its made from disappears so quickly?

In order to make planets you need building blocks. Those building blocks come from a protoplanetary disk, a ring of gas and dust that swirls around a newborn star.

'Oumuamua still puzzling scientists 5 years after discovery | Space

Five years after spotting the first known object from beyond our solar system passing through, scientists are still figuring out what the strange object says about planetary systems.

Marauding ice giant planets like Neptune could be flinging many trillions of small bodies into interstellar space, some of which visit our solar system , as 'Oumuamua notably did in 2017.
