'Marshmallow' world defies expectations for planets at red dwarfs | Space

Astronomers have discovered a gas giant planet with the density of a marshmallow orbiting a cool red dwarf star located 580 light-years from Earth. The Jupiter-like exoplanet is the lowest-density world ever observed orbiting a red dwarf.

"Giant planets around red dwarf stars have traditionally been thought to be hard to form," Shubham Kanodia, study lead author and astronomer at the Carnegie Institution in Washington, D.C.

Oct. 21 Star Party to view meteors, planets | Bluffton Icon

The public is invited to drop by the Ohio Northern University Observatory, 800 W. Lincoln Ave., between 8:00-10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, for the third public astronomy event at ONU Observatory for Fall 2022.

Starfield's Planets Seem Like an Ideal Advertising Avenue

Much of developer Bethesda's upcoming sprawling space RPG Starfield is still unknown. Fans were hoping to get their hands on the exciting first-person shooter this year, but the release date was recently confirmed to be pushed back to early 2023.

Bethesda looks to be attempting to take all the best bits of its previous games, including the mammoth franchises The Elder Scrolls and Fallout , and combining them into what seems to be its largest and most ambitious project to date.
