NASA Detects Two Asteroids Coming Towards Earth: Could This Pose a Threat Bigger Than The

Currently, one of NASA's works includes tracking asteroids and just recently, an asteroid has been identified to pass Earth close enough to cause an "airburst"! The first asteroid was then named the 2020 EF and the second one named 2020 DP4 which have both been the subject of NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies or CNEOS.

The good news is CNEOS said that despite being incredibly close to Earth's atmosphere, the size of the asteroid would be too small for it to survive close contact with Earth's surface. The asteroid thankfully measures only 98 feet in diameter despite traveling really fast at the speed of 10,000 mph.

Will an Asteroid Hit Earth in April 2020?

NASA warned that Asteroid 52768 (1998 OR2) could hit Earth in April 2020 and cause catastrophic danger.

On April 29, 2020, a large asteroid is expected to fly by earth at a distance of approximately 4 million miles. That may be of interest to stargazers, but the previous sentence isn't very alarming or attention-grabbing. Yet many media outlets wrote headlines about this incoming asteroid as if it posed an immediate and catastrophic threat to the planet.

This releases water and hydrogen that can later resettle in deep craters shielded from the sun, where the water transforms to ice.

Radar images taken by the NASA Messenger revealed large pockets of ice embedded in craters all over both of Mercury's poles.

NASA Detects Biggest Asteroid To Approach Earth This Month

NASA has detected the biggest asteroid that will approach Earth this month. According to the agency, the approaching potentially hazardous asteroid is bigger than the Empire State Building.

The incoming asteroid, identified as 2012 XA133 , is currently being monitored by NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS). According to CNEOS, 2012 XA133 will be the biggest asteroid to fly past Earth this month. The agency estimated that it is about 1,280 feet wide, making it over 200 feet taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
