VIDEO: Did a UFO buzz the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse? | Headlines | insidenova.com
Outer Banks photographer Wes Snyder captured an unidentified flying object on video last week at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.
Snyder's camera picked up the object at 10:20 p.m. on Jan. 7, while he was facing the south southeast sky. The object was seen for a total of 166 seconds or just under 3 minutes total.
"I spent a night at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse shooting time lapse photos in order to create an up coming video," Snyder wrote on Facebook . "While I was looking through my footage I realized there was something in the video that I could not explain. Its much larger than your typical plane appears, and its moving way faster than clouds. Can you explain what this object could be?

SAN DIEGO — The question, "are we alone in the universe?" is a mystery that has baffled humankind. There have been many accounts of people who have witnessed unidentified flying objects, but there has never been video quite like what has been seen in recent months.
In April, the Pentagon officially declassified three videos filmed by fighter pilots aboard the USS Nimitz and the USS Roosevelt. The videos appear to show an unidentified aircraft speeding across the sky. The videos have been widely considered as official documentation of a UFO.

In late April, the Department of Defense released footage of Navy fighter pilots encountering something "unidentifiable." The black and white videos are grainy and show small objects flying across the in-flight cameras of Navy fighter pilots.
This footage had already been circulating on the internet. By releasing it, the Department of Defense confirmed the videos' authenticity —and that it didn't know what they showed.

On April 27, 2020, the US Department of Defense issued a public statement authorising the release of three "UFO" videos taken by US Navy pilots.
The footage appears to depict airborne, heat-emitting objects with no visible wings, fuselage or exhaust, performing aerodynamically in ways that no known aircraft can achieve. The DoD doesn't use the terms "unidentified flying object" or "UFO" but does clearly state "the aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as 'unidentified'."
