Scientists are on the hunt for exoplanets, planets that exist outside our solar system. So far, they've found thousands of planets orbiting other stars and some that might be like our own world.

Simplifying home solar + storage system sizing with Sol-Ark's online calculator | Solar
Meeting customer expectations. There are two key components to meeting customer expectations in backup power applications. First, the stand-alone battery inverter power output must be enough to carry the peak instantaneous load. Second, the energy storage system (ESS) capacity must be adequate to reasonably support stand-alone operation.
Inverter power. Section 710.15(A) of the NEC requires that the stand-alone power is "equal to or greater than the load posed by the largest single utilization equipment connected to the system.
Oumuamua: It Came From Another Solar System - The New York Times
One of the great shaggy-dog mysteries of the sky continues to mesmerize astronomers. That would be the nature of a strange interloper, Oumuamua, that came zooming through the solar system in 2017. Interstellar comet? Cosmic iceberg? Alien space wreck?
This week two astronomers from Arizona State University, Alan Jackson and Steven Desch, offered the most solid explanation yet: Oumuamua was a chip off a faraway planet belonging to another star. Long ago, a collision with an asteroid broke it off and sent it careering through space.
Scientists reveal major new details about first ever comet from another solar system | The
The first comet known to have visited us from another solar system also appears to be more "pristine" than any other examined by scientists.
Those are the findings of a major new paper that examined the "rogue comet" 2I/Borisov, only the second interstellar object that hs been seen by scientists.
The object does not appear to have passed close to any other star – meaning that it represents an unspoilt piece of the gas and dust cloud that formed it.

Long Island's Solar Energy Market Heats Up As Technology Advances
Tesla electric vehicles aren't just appearing on the roads. They're also showing up nationwide on roofs. Don't worry: That's where these are designed to be.
After shaking up the automobile industry and space travel, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has set his sights on the sun. Since the company's 2016 acquisition of Solar City, a solar power developer and installer, Musk has been revolutionizing solar roofs. The company is making solar shingles that seamlessly cover roofs rather than positioning traditional panels, creating a technological tapestry.

Agrivoltaics—putting solar panels on farmland—lead to astonishing productivity gains and improved energy efficiency. Except when they don’t.
Barron-Gafford has been testing agrivoltaics—a term for land that combines agriculture and solar farming—for 8 years. He started with a single solar panel at Biosphere 2, in Oracle, Arizona, a site the University of Arizona has owned since 2011. More recently, his project has expanded to sites in nearby Tucson and even a large plot overseen jointly by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Longmont, Colorado.

Demand for home solar soared in 2020, according to recent Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BloombergNEF) research, with U.S. residential solar installations jumping 21% in the first seven months of this year compared to the same period in 2019. And in its Q3 2020 Solar Market Insight report , Wood Mackenzie and SEIA project the U.S. solar market will install 100 GW of solar over the next five years. That's 42% more than was installed over the last five years.
Closest Known Exoplanet to Our Solar System Located 10.5 Light-Years Away
(NASA) – This artist’s concept is of a Jupiter-mass planet orbiting the nearby star Epsilon Eridani. Located 10.5 light-years away, it is the closest known exoplanet to our solar system.
The planet is in an elliptical orbit that carries it as close to the star as Earth is from the Sun, and as far from the star as Jupiter is from the Sun.
Epsilon Eridandi is a young star, only 800 million years old. It is still surrounded by a disk of dust that extends 20 billion miles from the star. The disk appears as a linear sheet of reflecting dust in this view because it is seen edge-on from the planet’s orbit, which is in the same plane as the dust disk.
