MYSTERY WIRE — A truly mysterious series of lights were seen by people in the Las Vegas valley earlier this week.
The lights, as seen in several videos and photographs, appeared over Las Vegas around 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 1. People on different sides of the city have reported seeing them.
In the video and pictures you can clearly see four to eight lights. While hard to tell, most of the lights appear to be floating without much movement.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A strange light display caught the attention of many people across Hampton Roads on Friday afternoon.
Several people reached out to 13News Now asking about a strange lighted object that light up the clouds and slowly moved across the sky as the sun set around 5:30 p.m.
We reached out to both NASA Wallops Flight Facility and NAS Oceana. We haven't heard back yet from Oceana, but a spokesperson for Wallops confirmed the object didn't come from them.

The National Weather Service instead says it's a high-altitude balloon associated with Project Loon. The project is pioneering high-altitude communications technology making it possible to connect more people, places and things worldwide.

Upon closer inspection, you might notice an extraordinary amount of light being emitted from the ground. At first, you might question whether it is a UFO or the aurora borealis.

While many users on social media claimed it was aliens, Santa Claus or even swamp gas, Daniella Martin of Skydive Elsinore said the thrilling stunt was part of a “production show” over the lake after 5:30 p.m.
“We do all kinds of stuff here, sometimes even military stuff,” Martin said. “If you see anything that looks like a shooting star over the south part of the lake, over the airport, that’s us.”
