Attacks targeting CVE-2021-1879, as the zero-day is tracked, redirected users to domains that installed malicious payloads on fully updated iPhones . The attacks coincided with a campaign by the same hackers who delivered malware to Windows users, the researchers said.
"These are two different campaigns, but based on our visibility, we consider the actors behind the WebKit 0-day and the USAID campaign to be the same group of actors," Huntley wrote. "It is important to note that everyone draws actor boundaries differently.
Mass Effect Publisher EA Blackmailed Over Data Hack
The site also says it viewed a copy of a 1.3GB compressed file the hackers released which includes "references to internal EA tools and the company's Origin store." If EA doesn't start paying up the group has threatened to leak even more stolen data.
"We're aware of the recent posts by the alleged hackers and we are analyzing the files released," a spokesperson for EA said.

The REvil Ransomware Hackers Have Gone Offline
There's no information as to why REvil, believed to be operating out of Russia, may have disappeared. It could be due to law enforcement action, though no agency has yet claimed success in taking the group down. (The FBI declined to comment.
REvil may also have bailed due to the attention from its recent attacks. Or its sites may have simply gone down because of a technical issue.
Hackers hit Florida Blue with cyber-spoofing attack, expose 30,000+ members' info
Jacksonville-based Florida Blue, part of Blue Cross Blue Shield, recently began notifying more than 30,000 members that their personal information was exposed during a cyber-spoofing attack on the payer's user database.
Florida Blue's IT security team on June 8 discovered numerous unauthorized login attempts to the Florida Blue online member portal, the company said in a June 30 notice. After investigating the activity, the team realized that Florida Blue had been targeted in a cyber-spoofing attack.
