Planet 9 | Ninth Planet Name | New Planet in Solar System 2021

Planet 9 | Ninth Planet Name | New Planet in Solar System 2021

The scale of our solar system appears even larger when you consider where Planet 9 is roughly believed to exist. First, there is the inner planets zone, where Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars are packed relatively tightly together. After that is the asteroid belt.

Correction, October 9, 2021: A previous story mistakenly referred to the asteroid belt as the Kuiper Belt. In fact, the Kuiper Belt is a disc containing comets, asteroids, and dwarf planets beyond the orbit of Neptune.

Skywatch: Find meteors and planets this week | 10tv.com

COLUMBUS, Ohio — If you're lucky you may catch a shooting star this week. The South Taurid meteor shower peaks this week, maybe.

I say maybe because some say it peaks in early November but others say it peaks the morning of October 10.

This shower is active from early September to late November and really doesn't have a definite peak. That means you might be able to catch fireballs over the next month or so.

This may be the first exoplanet found orbiting three stars | Astronomy.com

Residing 1,300 light-years away in the famous constellation Orion the Hunter is the triple-star system GW Orionis. Of its three stars, two closely orbit each other, while a third orbits the pair.

The disk around GW Orionis consists of three concentric rings of material, none which align with any of the orbits of the system’s three stars. Furthermore, the innermost ring doesn’t even align with the other rings, and it strangely tilts and wobbles as it orbits.

Why Do M dwarfs Have More Transiting Planets? - Astrobiology

We propose a planet formation scenario to explain the elevated occurrence rates of transiting planets around M dwarfs compared to sun-like stars discovered by Kepler.

We use a pebble drift and accretion model to simulate the growth of planet cores inside and outside of the snow line. A smaller pebble size interior to the snow line delays the growth of super-Earths, allowing giant planet cores in the outer disk to form first.

A Month of Forward Movement: Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter Station Direct 2021 - New Jersey Digest

Retrograde season is practically over! In the month of October, we'll experience a total of four planets moving direct. That's a lot of forward movement, considering that three of the four planets have been in retrograde since the spring of this year .

The outer planets move at a much slower pace than their respective inner planets. This is largely due to their once-a-year retrograde cycles. On average, their retrogrades last for five to six months.

Sometimes I'm not sure what planet my young son is on | Parents and parenting | The Guardian

'M ERKERY!' my son shouted, sticking his hands in the air for emphasis. 'Well done!' cried his teacher with polite surprise, as I'd just asked him to tell her which planet was closest to the sun.

His fascination with planets came about accidentally, since we use a picture of Earth from space to show him that Ireland and England are separate countries.
