Look up! The moon is visiting bright Jupiter in the night sky | Space
The moon has already visited Venus and Saturn in the night sky over the past few days, and tonight (Dec. 8) Earth's natural satellite will sidle up next to Jupiter. Look toward the western sky an hour or so after sunset to get a good look at the dazzling duo.
Saturn and Venus will be part of that view as well, arrayed in a diagonal line extending downward and to the right of Jupiter .

The shark scientists from Florida and Louisiana looked at nearly 50 years of shark attack data from across the globe to see if there's a relationship between shark attacks and moon phases.

NASA names 10 new astronaut candidates for future space station, moon missions | collectSPACE
— NASA revealed the members of its new astronaut candidate class who may someday help establish a sustainable presence on the moon. The four women and six men named on Monday (Dec. 6) comprise the U.S.
The candidates are scheduled to report to Johnson in January to begin their training in spacecraft systems, spacewalking skills and other necessary disciplines for spaceflight.

MoonLIGHT is a laser retroreflector, imaged here, which allows laser beams sent from Earth to be reflected back from the moon to receivers on our planet. This allows very precise measurement of the distances between the reflector and the ground station.
Known as lunar laser ranging, this technique has been in use since the Apollo missions to investigate Einstein's theory of general relativity, lunar geophysics and the Earth-Moon dynamics, among other fields of study.
