In the first year of its scientific operations, the James Webb Space Telescope will study small galaxies orbiting the Milky Way, look for the oldest stars in the universe or peer inside mysterious remnants of an exploded star.
The mighty James Webb Space Telescope recently aligned its mirrors and showed off the sharpness of its eyes on a random underwhelming star.
NASA to announce Hubble Space Telescope discovery next week | Space
Officials with the Hubble Space Telescope program have some new science to share on Wednesday (March 30).
A NASA statement promises "one for the record books" and an "exciting new observation" from the nearly 32-year-old telescope.
NASA has offered little other information beyond promising that the "Hubble result not only extends our understanding of the universe, but creates an exciting area of research for Hubble's future work with NASA's newly-launched James Webb Space Telescope ."
For Artemis moon missions, science will reign supreme | Space
On April 15, planetary scientist and NASA astronaut Jessica Watkins will launch to the International Space Station and, as such, will likely be in space when the agency's Artemis 1 mission launches to the moon.
The scheduling, which will be Watkins' first spaceflight and will make her the first Black woman to fly an extended mission in space, is a coincidence.

"The recognition was a complete surprise; I haven't practiced engineering for quite a while," said Harman. "With my recognition, Iowa State CCEE Department has acknowledged the importance of STEM Education and the significance of engaging young women in STEM.
NASA's James Webb Space Telescope continues multi-instrument alignment
"Webb's alignment at the NIRCam field showed some spectacular diffraction-limited images , producing a tantalizing glimpse of the capabilities this observatory will carry for its science program.
"The next step is to ensure the telescope is well-aligned to the instruments other than NIRCam, including the guider (the Fine Guidance Sensor, or FGS) and the other three science instruments: the Near-Infrared Slitless Spectrograph (NIRISS), Near-Infrared Spectrometer (NIRSpec), and MIRI.
