The 30-second video shows Guy filming an empty ocean and sky on a boat with the lights out of frame saying, “Look, nothing in the sky at all, then all of a sudden...” Guy then turns the camera to the glowing orbs that don’t appear to be moving at all.

“Anybody tell me what that is?” Guy continues in the video, as onlookers can be heard in the background giving off sounds of shock and amazement at the spectacle.

Everyone who watched — including the pilots who filmed them — had the same question: What, exactly, are these things?

Last week, a Navy official publicly called these mysterious objects "Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP)," giving name to the inscrutable little dots and reigniting scrutiny around the unidentified flying objects (a term the Navy does not want to use even though the objects that are flying cannot be identified.)

"The Navy designates the objects contained in these videos as unidentified aerial phenomena," Joseph Gradisher, spokesman for the deputy chief of naval operations for information warfare, told the Black Vault blog , a massive civilian repository of government documents mostly obtained by Freedom of Information Act requests.

NASA spending on space is great for the industry, says UFO ETF chief

"People from all over the world are really realizing how important space is not just for any one individual, any one company or any one government. This is a truly global collaborative industry," Andrew Chanin, CEO of ProcureAM and the man behind the Procure Space ETF , ticker UFO, said Monday on CNBC's "ETF Edge."

"What we're seeing is ... this transformation away from it being completely reliant upon government agencies like NASA, like Roscosmos, like the [European Space Agency], and it being driven by commercial interests now," the CEO said.

"So, the governments out there are saying, 'Hey, we want to play ball. We want to work with you. Come up with your solutions and we're happy to finance that.' But so much of the spending now is coming from outside the government, so it's a really exciting time for the industry," Chanin said.

Navy Confirms UFO Videos Are Real and Show Unidentified Aerial Phenomena - HISTORY

Tom DeLonge formed To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science in 2017. The organization included an elite team of former government and defense-contractor insiders who would work behind the scenes to broaden awareness of the topic and persuade the government to reveal what it knows about UFOs.

“Those three videos are just part of a larger effort by the U.S. Navy to try and investigate a series of incursions into our training ranges by phenomena that we’re calling unidentified aerial phenomena,” says Gradisher, who declined to say how many sightings there have been. “Our aviators train as they fight. So when they’re out there training, if there’s an incursion by any kind of aerial vehicle phenomena, whatever, it puts the safety of our aviators at risk as well as the security of our training operations.”
