GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. ( WWLP ) – Newly released documentary series “Unsolved Mysteries” on Netflix premiers Wednesday, and one episode covers UFO sightings in the Berkshires in 1969.
The reboot features the UFO reports in Great Barrington, Sheffield, Stockbridge, and Egremont in its fifth episode, “Berkshires UFO.” It features footage from the Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield's public library, whose Local History Department was a filming location for the show in 2019.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — You might have seen what appeared to be a bright dot in the sky Monday night. In fact, you may have seen a few of them. They appeared to be hovering and not moving much, kind of a shiny circular oval, but what was it?
WFMY News 2 Chief Meteorologist Tim Buckley did some digging and found out that it, in fact, was not aliens. Instead, these were was four high altitude balloons drifting slowly over our area at only a few miles per hour.

In recent weeks, the Senate Intelligence Committee included language in an authorization bill that if passed, would require US intelligence agencies and the Pentagon to put together a detailed unclassified analysis of all the data they have collected on " unidentified aerial phenomenon ." But Americans aren't necessarily convinced the government will share any evidence of UFOs with the public.
Men (27%) are 10 percentage points more likely than women (17%) to believe the government would share this information. That said, a majority of both men (54%) and women (58%) believe the government would hide evidence of UFOs from the public.
