Now, a team of astronomers led by Borja Toledo-Padrón of the University of La Laguna, Spain, reports the detection of another exoworld around a nearby M dwarf known as GJ 740. HADES RV program monitored GJ 740 using the HARPS-N spectrograph installed at the 3.6m Telescopio Nazionale Galileo (TNG) in the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory, Spain.
"Our analysis of the 129 HARPS-N, 57 HARPS, and 32 CARMENES spectra of GJ 740 taken over 11 years shows the presence of a super-Earth orbiting the star," the researchers wrote in the paper.

You've heard of stars and planets aligning — but how about rewinding ? Triple star system K2-290 has two exoplanets in a retrograde orbit (nothing to do with the dreaded Mercury Retrograde ), meaning they orbit their star in the opposite direction that the star is rotating. Meaning, that star's spin was warped by something. It'd be as if an invisible force completely flipped our solar system, in which the planets all orbit in the same direction as the Sun's spin.
The culprit is thought to be another star in the system with monster gravitational force — enough to have made primary star K2-290A change its spin. The orbits of the planets were not affected, but with the star's spin going the other way, they appear to be orbiting backwards.

Though Parker Solar Probe's focus is the Sun, Venus plays a critical role in the mission: The spacecraft whips by Venus a total of seven times over the course of its seven-year mission, using the planet's gravity to bend the spacecraft's orbit. These Venus gravity assists allow Parker Solar Probe to fly closer and closer to the Sun on its mission to study the dynamics of the solar wind close to its source.
