Crescent Moon Dances Along a Trail of Planets in April 2022

Early each morning between April 24 and 27, a beautiful, waning crescent moon will glide past a row of planets, passing Saturn, then Mars, and finally, on April 27, the crescent moon will be grouped with Jupiter and Venus low in the sky.

Each month, Rancho Mirage Library and Observatory astronomer Eric McLaughlin spotlights a notable celestial event. For information about the observatory, visit ranchomiragelibrary.org .

Hubble Discovered A Scorching Planet That's 3x Hotter Than Venus

NASA's found all kinds of strange planets over the years — including this latest one with a surface temperature 3x hotter than Venus. Although it's quickly approaching its 32nd birthday, Hubble keeps on chugging as one of humanity's best tools for exploring the universe.

Hubble's also excellent for discovering new exoplanets. Exoplanets are any planets that exist beyond our Solar System. And there are a lot of them! NASA recently confirmed 5,000 exoplanet discoveries.

Does your zodiac possess the explosive T-Square aspect

Within a birth chart , aspects show us how planets are connected to each other. Aspects between two planets include trines, sextiles, conjunctions, oppositions, and squares with trines and sextiles considered "soft angles," and oppositions and squares "hard angles."

As Debi Kimpton Smith sagely points out in her seminal tome "Secrets From a Stargazer's Notebook," "A hard angle makes you dynamic and interesting, but twisted. A soft angle makes you charming, lazy, and dull, but lucky."

Gigantic Jupiter-like alien planet observed still 'in the womb' | CBC News

Scientists have observed an enormous planet about nine times the mass of Jupiter at a remarkably early stage of formation — describing it as still in the womb — in a discovery that challenges the current understanding of planetary formation.

The researchers used the Subaru Telescope located near the summit of an inactive Hawaiian volcano and the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope to detect and study the planet, a gas giant orbiting unusually far from its young host star.
