"Astronomers have known for a long time that there should be asteroids circling the Sun that were not formed in the solar system, but instead were captured early on during the formation of the planets," Fathi Namouni, an astronomer at the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur in France, tells Astronomy . "The difficulty was that we could not tell which are solar system-born and which are extrasolar-born."

Rewinding the solar system’s 4.5-billion-year history is a challenge at best. Over such large timescales, small differences in our models can produce dramatically different results. This led Namouni and his colleagues to take a statistical approach. After preselecting a group of Centaurs, they made millions of virtual clones, then rewound the trajectories of those clones back in time.

Renowned string theorist proposes new way to hunt our solar system's mysterious 'Planet
Now, the famous theoretical physicist Edward Witten has published a paper on how to track down this specter haunting our outer solar system: a fleet of tiny probes, pushed via lasers to a blistering 0.1% of the speed of light. Blanket that part of space with hundreds of little probes, Witten argued in the new paper, and the fleet should be able to pin down the lost object’s location. (The paper has not yet been peer reviewed or accepted for publication in a journal.)

NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope and the ground-based Gemini Observatory in Hawaii teamed up with the Juno spacecraft to probe the mightiest storms in the solar system.
“We want to know how Jupiter’s atmosphere works,” said Wong. This is where the teamwork of Juno, Hubble and Gemini comes into play.’
Solar-sailing sentries could allow up-close study of interstellar visitors like 'Oumuamua | Space
A fleet of solar-sailing sentries stationed far from the sun could someday allow scientists to get up-close looks at interstellar visitors like the mysterious 'Oumuamua .
The NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) Program has funded a team of researchers to study the feasibility of building and deploying "statites" (short for "static satellites") at various points along the outer reaches of our solar system .
These lightsail-equipped spacecraft would use solar radiation pressure — the push from photons streaming from the sun — to "hover" in the same spot over time, keeping an eye out for interstellar objects (ISOs) zooming through their particular patch of space.

Not just with the new solar roof products, but also with more traditional solar panels on existing roofs, which still represents most of Tesla's solar business.
They only pay a monthly fee to access the solar power generated by the system to reduce their utility bill.
As Tesla ramped down SolarCity’s solar installations, several other companies, like Sunrun and Vivint, have taken over the residential solar market with competitive prices.
GAF Energy releases updated DecoTech roof-integrated solar system
"GAF Energy offers homeowners highly efficient roof-integrated solar in North America, now with an even more streamlined installation system. We need to be improving and innovating in this moment more than ever, and our new DecoTech 2.0 system delivers on that. Not only does our redesigned system simplify the installation process, but it can reduce costs and save our local roofing contractors time," said Martin DeBono, President of GAF Energy.
The upgraded system features wiring improvements for durability and safety. It also boasts fewer attachment points and new fastener hardware for quicker and simpler installation.
Mystery 'king planet' TRIPLE the size of Jupiter found lurking in nearby Solar System
A HUGE planet outside the Milky Way is being referred to as the new "king" or "empress" of its solar system.
The newly discovered exoplanet is more than 1,250 light-years away and it's three times the mass of Jupiter.

Dr. Lauren Weiss, one of the researchers who found the planet, said: "At three times the mass of Jupiter, Kepler-88 d has likely been even more influential in the history of the Kepler-88 system than the so-called King, Kepler-88 c, which is only one Jupiter mass.
Tesla launches new Solar Price Match Guarantee on solar panel systems
Tesla has added a price match guarantee to its Solar program that will match quotes on a comparable solar system from a competing brand.
In an update to the company’s Solar Panel support page, Tesla notes its eligibility requirements for the new Solar price match guarantee. The competing solar system must include an inverter, be of the same size or bigger than the Tesla system, and offer a minimum 10-year warranty.
The price quote from the competitor must also be dated within 14 days of placing the order with Tesla and utilize the same financing options. The quote must also include permit and installation costs from the competitor.
