Another mysterious monolith appears in San Luis Obispo - Los Angeles Times

The curious case of the moving monolith has a new wrinkle as yet another mysterious silver structure has appeared in Southern California, this time in the Los Padres National Forest.

San Luis Obispo resident Matt Carver was among a group who made the most recent discovery Saturday morning. He and several friends were camping at a site near Arroyo Grande when they came across the gleaming gargantuan structure while shooting drone footage.

The three-sided structure appears to be made of stainless steel and is about 2 feet wide and 10 feet tall, Carver said, noting that it would have taken "a bit of work" to get it up there.

U.S. Navy’s UFO sightings might have a disappointing explanation | KTVE - myarklamiss.com

U.S. Navy (NBC) (08/03/20) — Is it vindication at last? The New York Times has recently reported that a supposedly canceled Pentagon project to investigate strange aerial phenomena is still showing a pulse.

The clandestine effort, originally known as the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, was said to have ended in 2012. But, apparently, it's still doing its thing under the auspices of the U.S. Office of Naval Intelligence, and with a new name: the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force.

‘Monolith’ pops up in Hungary and is a hit on social media | Trending News,The Indian

The latest monolith, the internet’s favourite craze presently, has been spotted in Hungarian capital Budapest.

The metallic structure turned up in a large, grassy field, bordered by the Rákospalotai határút and Szentmihályi street, that is mostly used by morning walkers, said a report by Hungary Today .

According to one of the readers of Hungarian news portal telex.hu, the construction of the latest structure is unique because it isn’t a solid metal column. Instead it is reportedly a set of plates riveted to a metal frame. Like the previous structures, no one has taken credit for installing it.

Cami Buckman, 23, of El Segundo, said she noticed the impromptu light show while driving on the 405 Freeway near Los Angeles International Airport.

"I never see these kinds of things, so at first I thought it was a plane," said Buckman, an editor for "L.A. Times Today," a Spectrum News show focusing on L.A. Times news. "But then, it looked like it was breaking apart, which was when it caught my attention more."

Barry Gibb: 'My brothers had to deal with their demons, but my wife wasn't going to have it'

Today, he is more sanguine about the past. No, he says, it wasn't painful revisiting the Bee Gees' career for the new feature-length documentary about the band, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart: "I've had to deal with loss, not just my brothers but my mother and father. But what I've learned from all of it is that things just roll on, and you roll on with them."

You get the feeling that the virulent opprobrium the Bee Gees attracted in the wake of the film Saturday Night Fever's record-breaking success has never quite dislodged itself from his psyche: the days of comedians making fun of their teeth and Gibb's falsetto voice are long gone; the backlash against disco is now viewed as an aberration fuelled by homophobia and racism.
