Avoiding digestive problems is part of daily activities on the moon for the Sensoria M3 crew —

Dr. Michaela Musilova is the director of Hawaii Space Exploration Analog and Simulation ( HI-SEAS ) program, which conducts analog missions to the moon and Mars for scientific research at a habitat on the volcano Mauna Loa. Currently, she is in command of the two-week Sensoria M3 mission and contributed this report to Space.com's Expert Voices: Op-Ed & Insights .

I was surprised when the Selene II crew started their tradition of 100 pushups and situps. It was not an evening activity that I expected the crew to desire doing. The SENSORIA M3 surprised me further with a new game: fiber-pong. It is essentially a lunar version of beer pong. Every night, our dining room table is quickly transformed into a ping-pong table of sorts. We don't have any alcohol on our analog moon mission, so beer has been replaced with dietary fiber.

The First Car Race on the Moon Will Take Place in 2021 – Robb Report

Forget walking on the moon, this US company plans to race on it. Moon Mark is gearing up to deploy two autonomous rovers into space and host the first remote-controlled car race on the lunar surface.

The Nevada-based entertainment and education outfit has partnered with aerospace technology company Lunar Outpost for the project, which is slated to take place in 2021. The team hopes to get the four-wheelers onboard a spacecraft designed by Intuitive Machines . This vessel, known as the Nova-C lander, is due to launch from Earth atop the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket late next year and, hopefully, chauffeur the two racing rovers into space.

Looking up: 2020 was a great year for astronomy

Astronomical phenomena offered the ultimate in social-distancing events and was a good reminder to look up for some perspective during dark times.

A supermoon isn't that uncommon, it basically means the moon looks larger than it typically does because the full moon occurs when the moon is at the closest point to earth in its orbit. But it is uncommon to have four supermoons in a row.

In February, we saw a Super Snow Moon , named by northeastern Native American tribes because of February's heavy snow. In March, we saw a Super Worm Moon , named for the earthworms and grubs that emerge after the winter season. April's supermoon was said to be the biggest and brightest of the year. And in May, we saw the supermoon known as the Flower Moon, Corn Planting Moon, Milk Moon or Vesak Festival Moon, according to NASA .

Kid Cudi Is Reborn: The Making of 'Man on the Moon III: The Chosen' - The Ringer

Below is a feature on how Kid Cudi evolved his sound on his new album, Man on the Moon III: The Chosen. To hear the full story of the making of the album and legacy of the Man on Moon series, check out this week's episode of The Ringer Music Show .

Rarely is good rapping actually good because of the technical aspects of rapping. What many conceive as the bedrock of the artform—lyrics, metaphors, cadence, and wordplay—are merely the cogs and bolts of a much larger machine. The reason you sound like Dr. Seuss with a head cold rapping and someone like Young Thug could make reading the phone book sound heavenly is mostly intangible. Most people try and a rarefied few don't.
