The New Moon in Aries 2021 Forces Change, Thanks to Pluto | Well+Good

The new moon in Aries 2021, happening on Sunday (the 11th) at 10:30 p.m., ET, is the first new moon of the zodiacal new year, and thus, an essential one. Happening at 22° of Aries, this new moon commences the spring season in all earnest, calling us into fresh starts and new beginnings.

The new moon’s ruler, Mars (in Gemini), forms an air trine to Jupiter (in Aquarius), boosting energy and optimism. Aside from the trine between Jupiter and Mars, both sextile the sun, moon, and Venus—making a potent combination that supports feeling powerful, taking action, and finding clarity. Additionally, Mercury in Aries sextiles Saturn in Aquarius, another aspect that provides ideal conditions for setting future intentions and initiating desired changes.

2021’s first supermoon: The Pink Moon will light up the sky this month | myfox8.com

The Pink Moon will rise on the night of Monday, April 26, According to the  Old Farmer's Almanac. It will reportedly reach peak illumination around 11:33 p.m. EST.

To get the best view of the Pink Moon, the Almanac says you should find an open area and watch the moon as it rises just above the horizon. That’s the point experts say it will appear the biggest.

The Almanac reports that the moon will be golden in color near the horizon and not actually pink in hue. It will fade to bright white while it glides overhead.

'My romance, your adultery': South Koreans' sarcasm over hypocrisy follows Moon into final year |

SEOUL (Reuters) - South Koreans disillusioned with President Moon Jae-in's ruling Democratic Party had a single word to sum up their disgust with political leaders they perceive as hypocritical and inept.

The taunt began ringing in Democrats' ears last year, and they heard it a lot while campaigning for mayoral elections in Seoul and Busan this week, contests they lost by embarrassing margins.

Artists' work to be sent to the moon

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - The Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art currently has a virtual exhibit titled Facing the Universe: the Cosmos Within. Museum owner David Hummer has a painting in the show, as does local artist Kara Lasiewicz. It, along with other shows from around the world, was chosen to be encapsulated on the moon in late July.

"There're painters from all over that got into this show, and then this was unbeknown to anyone, that all of a sudden this show along with others was picked to be sent to the moon, so to speak, in digital form on a little SD card," said Lasiewicz.

NASA seeks to put first person of color on the Moon in Artemis mission - The Verge

Acting NASA administrator Steve Jurczyk said Friday that under President Biden's budget request, the agency's Artemis mission has a new goal: in addition to landing the first woman on the Moon, it will also send the first person of color to the lunar surface. So far, the only Earthlings to touch the Moon's surface have been white men.

"The president's discretionary request increases NASA's ability to better understand Earth and further monitor and predict the impacts of climate change," Jurczyk said in a statement . "It also gives us the necessary resources to continue advancing America's bipartisan Moon to Mars space exploration plan, including landing the first woman and first person of color on the Moon under the Artemis program."

All you need are clear skies, a good view to the west, and a few minutes to spare around dusk to see the Moon's dark side subtly lit-up.

How April 2021's New Moon In Aries Will Affect Your Zodiac Sign

Spring brings a certain ~vibe~ that can feel so good after a long, cold winter spent inside. The sun is shining, flowers are blooming, it's socially acceptable to wear shorts again, and everything just feels so much…lighter.

First, a little astronomy lesson: The moon has different phases. A new moon happens when Earth lines up with the sun, making the moon look pretty much invisible from your place on planet Earth. There are usually 12 new moons a year, and each new moon is synched up with a different astrological sign.
