Most of the highly maneuverable flying vehicles that have been created thus far are completely dependent on Earth's atmosphere to take to the skies. The wings of planes need air to generate lift, while propellers need air to generate thrust.

This is why we tend to rely on wheeled vehicles for exploring other celestial bodies that don't have enough of an atmosphere to support flight. But a rover endures a lot of wear and tear rolling across a barren, rocky terrain, even when operated at limited speeds for safety reasons.

Scientists baffled after recording 'eerie sounds' coming from Jupiter's moon

A NASA spacecraft has captured curious noises coming from Ganymede, Jupiter’s largest moon.

Data captured as the Juno mission flew within 645 miles of mysterious space objects was turned into an audio clip by scientists.

The resulting 50-second track of screeches and bleeps was presented at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting in New Orleans last week.

NASA's Artemis 1 moon mission slips to spring 2022 after engine issue | Space

The agency is now targeting a launch in March or April 2022 for its Artemis 1 flight, an uncrewed mission around the moon and the first flight of its massive Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. NASA was previously targeting Feb.

"After performing a series of inspections and troubleshooting, engineers determined the best course of action is to replace the engine controller, returning the rocket to full functionality and redundancy while continuing to investigate and identify a root cause," NASA officials wrote in a

S.Korea's Moon urges more beds for coronavirus patients in a serious state | 1330 & 101.5 WHBL

"Over the past year, we have prepared for an increase in patients by nearly doubling the number of coronavirus treatment beds and expanding home treatment, but it was not enough," Moon's spokesperson, Park Kyung-mee, quoted him as saying.

That figure is above the threshold of 75% that health authorities had said would trigger emergency measures.

Scientists Opening Sealed Container From Final Moon Landing

Scientists at the European Space Agency (ESA) are opening a 50-year old Christmas present from the Moon this month, according to a new ESA press release .

On Thursday, the ESA announced that a team is ready to use the specially-built piercing tool to open a Moon soil container from the 1972 Apollo 17 mission — NASA's final trip to the Moon to date.
