Russian Hackers Target Dutch LNG Terminal | OilPrice.com

Russian hackers have been doing “ exploratory research ” into the systems of the Dutch LNG terminals, trying to find ways into the systems, American cyber security company Dragos has reported.

New ransomware attacks in Ukraine linked to Russian Sandworm hackers

Slovak software company ESET who first spotted this wave of attacks, says the ransomware they named RansomBoggs has been found on the networks of multiple Ukrainian organizations.

"While the malware written in .NET is new, its deployment is similar to previous attacks attributed to Sandworm," ESET's Research Labs said .

Iranian Hackers Installed Crypto Miner in Federal Agency After Exploiting Unpatched Log4Shell ...

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said Iranian hackers breached a federal agency that failed to patch the Log4Shell vulnerability and deployed a crypto miner.

The breach that occurred as early as February 2022 impacted an unnamed federal civilian executive branch organization (FCEB). However, the Washington Post identified the breached federal agency as the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board, according to people familiar with the incident.

Hackers allegedly request money after stealing personal information from Norman Public Schools

NORMAN, Okla. ( KFOR ) – It appears a ransomware attack on Norman Public Schools from earlier this month was done by a well-known hacking group that has earned millions in extortion deals.

The group said they "offered to protect this data and keep this incident private," but now they are going public.

'Pro-Russia' hackers down EU Parliament website for hours | Reuters

The parliament's website was up again shortly after 1700 GMT, around two hours after the institution had reported the outage.

"The European Parliament is under a sophisticated cyberattack. A pro-Kremlin group has claimed responsibility," European Parliament President Roberta Metsola said in a tweet shortly after the website went down.

Hackers Are Selling 500 Million WhatsApp Phone Numbers - WinBuzzer

A database was recently put up for sale with around 487 million WhatsApp user phone numbers across 84 countries. There are around 2 billion people who use WhatsApp around the world, so this leak involves around 25 percent of the company's entire user base.

Looking at those phone numbers, 32 million were from the United States, 11 million from the United Kingdom, 5 million from Italy, 29 million from Saudi Arabia, 10 million from Russia, and 20 million from both France and Turkey. Of course, other countries were also affected to lesser amounts.
