REVIEW: UFO gives otherworldly 'farewell' show at Penn's Peak, but Blue Oyster Cult fails to
If, as English rock band UFO has intimated, its current 50th anniversary tour will be its last, then it went out in an otherworldly way Friday with its show at Penn's Peak near Jim Thorpe.
It gave a concert that not only displayed how strongly it has influenced heavy metal and other rock forms, but showed how aging rockers can continue to rock with strength and dignity.
When the band announced its current run of shows in February, it said that vocalist Phil Mogg, 71, who helped form the band in London in 1969 and has been its only constant member, will retire after the tour. "Consequently, it seems almost certain that at that point they will cease to exist," the band said.
These 5 UFO Traits, Seen by Navy Fighters, Defy Explanation - HISTORY
When Luis Elizondo ran a small team at the U.S. Department of Defense investigating military-based reports of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), he heard numerous such accounts—by some of the most highly trained aeronautic experts in the military. They describe objects that appeared to be intelligently controlled, possessing aerodynamic capabilities that far surpass any currently known aircraft technology.
Now pursuing his investigations as part of To the Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences, Elizondo is an integral part of the investigative team featured on HISTORY's “ Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation ," where they have continued to gather eyewitness accounts:
UFOs Remain Elusive Despite Decades of Study | Space
In July, the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) celebrates 50 years of investigating and promoting research on the unidentified flying object phenomenon. The all-volunteer, nonprofit, science-based organization has endeavored since 1969 to hunt down answers about baffling vehicles of unknown origin.
Based in Irvine, California, MUFON makes its credo clear-cut on its website: "Our goal is to be the inquisitive minds' refuge seeking answers to that most ancient question, 'Are we alone in the universe?' The answer, very simply, is no. Whether you have UFO reports to share, armchair UFO investigator aspirations, or want to train and join our investigation team, MUFON is here for you. Won't you please join us in our quest to discover the truth?"

'We're watching': Trump stokes UFO rumors during ABC News interview | US news | The Guardian
Earlier this year, the US navy revised its pilot guidelines on how to document "unauthorised and/or unidentified aircraft", after a spike in such reports.
"If naval pilots are running into unexplained interference in the air, that's a safety concern Senator Warner believes we need to get to the bottom of," a spokesperson said.
Interest in unidentified aerial phenomena has been building since 2017, when the Pentagon established a programme dedicated to analysing the subject, interviewing sailors and pilots about their experiences.
Reporting UFO Sightings to the U.S. Navy Just Got Easier - HISTORY
Back in the 1950s, if you saw an unidentified flying object, you could fill out one of the U.S. Air Force’s handy UFO questionnaires for Project Blue Book . That government program dissolved in 1969, but the military has remained interested in UFO sightings ever since. In April 2019, the U.S. Navy confirmed it is updating its guidelines for how pilots and personnel should report what it calls “unexplained aerial phenomena,” or UAP.

Trump briefed on UFOs, but doesn't 'particularly' believe in them
WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump doesn't seem to be a believer of aliens or UFOs flying through Earth's atmosphere , although he has been briefed on them.
ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, in a wide-ranging interview , asked Trump about recent news reports about Navy pilots spotting flying objects and what he made of the apparent UFO sightings.
"I want them to think whatever they think," Trump said, raising his eyebrows and slightly grinning before adding that he did have "one really brief meeting on it."
