Asteroid 4 times larger than Empire State Building to fly past Earth - UPI.com

A massive asteroid over a mile wide is expected to make a closer-than-normal trip past the Earth near the end of May, an approach so close that it could be spotted in the sky.

Asteroids fly past the Earth on a regular basis, but Asteroid 7335 (1989 JA) is bigger than many of them, measuring 1.1 miles (5,900 feet) across.

The vital telescopes discovering Earth-threatening asteroids | Mashable

When you're fast asleep at night, telescopes atop lofty mountains continually sleuth out unknown space rocks that might fly close to Earth, or even potentially hit us.

Congress directs NASA to find and track the asteroids and comets that swoop into our cosmic neighborhood, meaning some 30 million miles from Earth's orbit around the sun. They're aptly named "near-Earth objects," or NEOs, and thousands of sizable ones are thought to remain undiscovered.

NASA's asteroid-bound spacecraft observed May 15-16 lunar eclipse from 64 million miles away: ...

NASA's asteroid hunter, Lucy, observed the May 15-16 total lunar eclipse from 64 million miles (100 million km) away - that's nearly 70% of the distance between the Earth and the Sun.

Launched in October 2021, the Lucy mission's key objective is to observe one main belt asteroid and seven Trojan asteroids that share an orbit around the Sun with Jupiter, making it NASA's first single spacecraft mission in history to explore so many different asteroids.

The Truth About Wes Anderson And Bill Murray's Friendship

Hollywood is the home of many iconic actor-director pairings that have pushed the envelope of groundbreaking cinema. Bill Murray and Wes Anderson — longtime buddies, fellow oddballs, and film geniuses — are one such duo.

So long has Murray hung around Anderson's sets that he has assumed the role as something of a chieftain leading the director's ensembles in every film — "I welcome others to come in, and I try to inform them of the rules of the place and how they have to behave," he said at Cannes.
