Hackers Cast LinkedIn as Most-Popular Phishing Spot | TechNewsWorld

In recent weeks network audits revealed that the social media platform for professionals was in the crosshairs of 52 percent of all phishing scams globally in the first quarter of 2022.

Social media networks now overtake shipping, retail, and technology as the category most likely to be targeted by criminal groups, noted network security firm Check Point .

Hackers are Exploiting a Patched Critical Vulnerability Affecting VPN Devices for Businesses, ...

Zyxel firewall, the VPN company that provides multiple security and networking functions to small and medium-sized businesses, has detected a severe vulnerability, CVE-2022-30525.

The CVE-2022-30525 vulnerability was discovered by Jake Baines, lead security researcher at Rapid7, in April 2022. The vulnerability makes it possible for an unauthenticated and remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on an affected device in the context of the nobody user.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has alerted telecoms consumers and members of the public to an ongoing cyber-vulnerability that allows a nearby hacker to unlock a vehicle, start the engine wirelessly and make away with the automobile.

It said the fact that car remotes are categorised as short-range devices that make use of radiofrequency (RF) to lock and unlock cars informed the need for the commission to sensitise Nigerians to the emergent danger.

How Eurovision was targeted by pro-Russian hackers - TICKER NEWS

Authorities say the hacking attempts occurred during Tuesday’s Semi-final and Saturday’s final of the song contest.

The police cybersecurity department blocked multiple cyber attacks that occurred during voting and the performances.

Police investigated the Russian group’s Telegram channels, finding key details including locations, that helped them to stop other critical events.
