US govt shares top flaws exploited by Chinese hackers since 2020

NSA, CISA, and the FBI revealed today the top security vulnerabilities most exploited by hackers backed by the People's Republic of China (PRC) to target government and critical infrastructure networks.

The three federal agencies said in a joint advisory that Chinese-sponsored hackers are targeting U.S. and allied networks and tech companies to gain access to sensitive networks and steal intellectual property.

LofyGang hackers built a credential-stealing enterprise on Discord, NPM

The 'LofyGang' threat actors have created a credential-stealing enterprise by distributing 200 malicious packages and fake hacking tools on code hosting platforms, such as NPM and GitHub.

Researchers highlighted some of these packages in recent reports by Kaspersky, Jfrog, and Sonatype, who spotted them in supply chain attacks using typo-squatted package names.

Eternity Group Hackers Offering New LilithBot Malware-as-a-Service to Cybercriminals

"It has advanced capabilities to be used as a miner, stealer, and a clipper along with its persistence mechanisms," Zscaler ThreatLabz researchers Shatak Jain and Aditya Sharma said in a Wednesday report.

"The group has been continuously enhancing the malware, adding improvements such as anti-debug and anti-VM checks."

Colorado.gov restored after website targeted by hackers - CBS Colorado

If you typed in  https://www.colorado.gov/  over the past two days, it showed the usual homepage was offline but that other state websites and services were available. Computer experts quickly suspected Russia was behind the hack.

Steve Beaty is chair of the computer science department at MSU Denver and believes Russian hackers are involved.

Hackers exploiting unpatched RCE bug in Zimbra Collaboration Suite

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability allows an attacker to overwrite the Zimbra webroot, implant shellcode, and access other users' accounts.

The vulnerability was discovered as a zero-day at the start of September when admins posted details of attacks  on Zimbra forums .

Iranian Hackers Target Enterprise Android Users With New RatMilad Spyware | SecurityWeek.Com

Zimperium is warning of an Iranian hacking group using a new piece of Android spyware in a broad campaign that has also targeted enterprise users.

Once the application has been installed and the user has granted it permissions to access enough services, the RatMilad spyware is sideloaded on the device and starts collecting information.
