The way these stories spread were considered to be "viral," said Greg Eghigian, a history professor at Penn State University and an expert on the history of UFO sightings. Even in the 1940s and 1950s, before social media changed the way we can disseminate information, the information would spread as fast as technology allowed.

He's well on his way to completing his goal of walking the total distance of the Earth's circumference at the grand age of 88! Hathaway began walking in his mid-50s at the request of his doctor, who suggested he walk three miles a day to help manage health issues, including diabetes and heart problems. YouTube's Plot to Silence Conspiracy Theories | WIRED

He couldn't stop thinking about it. In February 2015 he began uploading his own musings, in a series called "Flat Earth Clues." Sargent's videos are intentionally lo-fi affairs. Shop owners disappointed over decision to move UFO Festival | KRQE News 13

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Roswell is moving its iconic UFO Festival off of Main Street in downtown. Shop owners, many of them with alien-themed businesses are worried they’re going to take a huge hit.

“It takes away what every person who has planted a business here has worked for,” said store owner Vanessa Roquel Meeks. Downtown business owners are not thrilled over the city of Roswell’s choice to relocate the UFO Festival five blocks away to the Civic Center.
