Elden Ring Publisher Targeted By Hackers

Cases of bad actors leveraging ransomware and blackmailing companies by hacking into their systems and stealing precious data have kept the Federal Bureau of Investigation busy. Among the bad actors out there, BlackCat has extorted more than 60 entities across the globe (via the FBI ).

BlackCat's threats have extended into the gaming industry, with the group picking a fight with Bandai Namco. Bandai has enjoyed the glow of success following the launch of "Elden Ring," with fans all but clamoring for DLC.

Hackers Nab $8M in Ethereum via Uniswap Phishing Attack - Decrypt

The phishing scam promised a free airdrop of 400 UNI tokens (worth approximately $2,200). Users were asked to connect their crypto wallets and sign the transaction to claim the malicious airdrop. Upon connection, the unknown hacker grabbed user funds through a malicious smart contract .

Hackers impersonate cybersecurity firms in callback phishing attacks

When the target calls the numbers, the threat actors use social engineering to convince users to install remote access software on their devices, providing initial access to corporate networks. This access is then used to compromise the entire Windows domain.

In a new callback phishing campaign, the hackers are impersonating CrowdStrike to warn recipients that malicious network intruders have compromised their workstations and that an in-depth security audit is required.

New 'Luna Moth' hackers breach orgs via fake subscription renewals

The gang received the name Luna Moth and has been active since at least March in phishing campaigns that delivered remote access tools (RAT) that enable the corporate data theft.

The Incident Response team at cybersecurity company Sygnia has been tracking the activity of the Luna Moth ransom group, noting that the actor is trying to build a reputation using the name Silent Ransom Group (SRG).

Experian FAILs yet Again — Hackers can Change Your Email Address - Security Boulevard

Credit reporting agency Experian has a nasty vulnerability: Bad actors can hijack your account simply by creating a new one with your stolen information.

When the bug was reported to Experian, the reply basically dismissed the problem—with a side order of, "We take consumer privacy and security seriously." Given that Experian doesn't even support two-factor authentication, this is proper piss-poor performance.
