Harmony Hackers Cover Tracks by Bridging Portion of $100M Loot to Avalanche, Ethereum and Tron

The hackers who targeted the Harmony network in a $100 million attack last year have bridged their ill-gotten gains from the Bitcoin blockchain to the Avalanche, Tron and Ethereum platforms, according to on-chain analysis by blockchain sleuth MistTrack.

Last week, the hackers sent $63.5 million (41,000 ETH) to Railgun, a privacy-focused crypto wallet, before moving the funds on to various exchanges. The bitcoin ( BTC ) was then withdrawn from exchanges, with a portion of it being bridged to the Avalanche network.

Hackers Hit Riot Games, Forcing It to Halt Game Updates | PCMag

The hacker infiltrated the company’s development systems through a “social engineering attack,” Riot Games tweeted (Opens in a new window) .

The good news is that Riot Games has so far uncovered no evidence that user data was compromised during the intrusion.

However, the intrusion did disrupt the company’s ability to release game updates. “While our teams are working hard on a fix, we expect this to impact our upcoming patch cadence across multiple games,” the studio said.

Riot Games to pause updates after social engineering attack - The Record from Recorded Future News

Video game developer and esports organizer Riot Games was affected by a social engineering cyberattack last week, the company announced on January 20.

The attack, which compromised multiple systems, affects the company's ability to release content, as well as other operations at the company, including patching.

Arnold Clark threatened by hackers following cyber attack

This follows the cyber attack on the company over the festive period, in which customers had their addresses, passports and national insurance numbers stolen and have now, the Mail on Sunday has reported, been leaked on the dark web.

The newspaper reported that hackers have posted 15GB of data, and have threatened to upload a further 467GB unless a multi-million-pound ransom is paid in cryptocurrency.

These security flaws could let hackers install anything they wanted in the Samsung Galaxy App ...

Samsung has patched two vulnerabilities in its mobile app marketplace that could have allowed threat actors to install any app on a target mobile device without the device owner’s knowledge or consent.

Cybersecurity researchers from the NCC Group discovered the vulnerabilities in late December 2022 and tipped Samsung off, with the company issuing a patch (version 4.5.49.8) on January 1 2023.

Hackers Access Thousands Of PayPal Accounts | Silicon UK Tech

In a notification it sent to users starting last Thursday the digital payments giant said some 34,942 had their accounts accessed during a two-day period in early December.

While it said no transactions were carried out by the intruders, the hackers were able to access detailed personal data including full names, dates of birth, postal addresses, social security numbers and individual tax identification numbers.
