State-linked hackers in Russia and Iran are targeting UK groups, NCSC warns | Hacking | The Guardian

Both groups have been active for some years, but it is understood they have recently stepped up their activities in the UK as the war in Ukraine continues, as well as operating in the US and other Nato countries.

Paul Chichester, NCSC's operations director, said the "threat actors based in Russia and Iran" from the two separate groups "continue to ruthlessly pursue their targets in an attempt to steal online credentials and compromise potentially sensitive systems".

Hackers auction alleged source code for League of Legends

Threat actors are auctioning the alleged source code for Riot Game's League of Legends and the Packman anti-cheat software, confirmed to be stolen in a recent hack of the game company's developer environment.

Last Friday, Riot Games disclosed that its  development environment had been hacked , allowing threat actors to steal source code for League of Legends (LoL), Teamfight Tactics (TFT), and the company's Packman legacy anti-cheat platform.

Hackers take over Robinhood's Twitter account to promote scam token

An unknown group or individual has hacked the Twitter account behind crypto and stock trading platform Robinhood to push users to buy a "new" token.

Many Crypto Twitter users reported on Jan. 25 that Robinhood had posted a tweet calling on its 1.1 million followers to each pay $0.0005 for a token called "RBH" on the BNB Smart Chain.

“TA444 spearheads North Korea's cashflow generation for the regime by bringing in launderable funds,” he told The Record. “This threat actor rapidly ideates new attack methods while embracing social media as part of their MO.

Hackers dug deep in the massive LastPass security breach | Digital Trends

While the databases were encrypted, the encryption key was also stolen, making it a simple matter for anyone with the key to read all of this information.

Rescue and GoToMyPC encrypted databases were not affected , but the MFA settings of some customers were impacted.

Germany's federal cyber agency is looking into digital attacks by hackers targeting websites in the country.

The BSI is looking into the 'scope and source' of attacks, an interior ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks work by directing high volumes of internet traffic towards targeted servers in a relatively unsophisticated bid by so-called 'hacktivists' to knock them offline.
