(NEXSTAR) – From reports of flying saucers to mysterious bomb blasts, the CIA has opened its catalogue of intelligence on reports of unidentified flying objects to the public.

In one report from June of 1996, two Lithuanian police officers working near the border reported seeing “a spherical object hanging and ‘pulsing,’ alternately shrinking and expanding” around 12:30 a.m. that morning. They also described “a strange sound like an electric or electronic crackle.”

The ETF space race heats up with one giant leap from a star manager - MarketWatch

While it's widely hoped that this year will turn out better than 2020, it's hard to imagine anyone striking it so lucky, so quickly as Andrew Chanin.

Chanin is the CEO of ProcureAM, which runs an exchange-traded fund focused on space exploration. Since its inception, the fund, with the out-of-this-world ticker UFO UFO, -0.04% , has held a niche role as the only ETF solely focused on space exploration.

And here's another article:

World UFO Day 2020: The Day Is Observed On July 2.

World UFO Day this year became more interesting after videos released, a month ago, by the Pentagon brought discussions of 'unidentified flying objects', 'flying saucers' and sightings of 'bright blue light' in the sky into the mainstream. In the United States, often than not, we have heard of UFOs being talked about by the government's top defence departments.

World UFO Day is marked every year on July 2. UFOs grabbed attention after the Roswell incident in New Mexico, sometime in July 1947. A 'flying object' had reportedly crashed at a ranch in Roswell, the owner had claimed and remnants were also found. The US military had later said that it was just a weather balloon and since then several conspiracy theories emerged across the world.

In December 2017, the Pentagon acknowledged funding a secret multi-million dollar program to investigate sightings of UFOs, although it said it had ended in 2012.

The Senate's focus on the program stems less out of a concern over extraterrestrials, and more from the threat posed by real-world US adversaries, such as China.

The United States is particularly worried about China's espionage capabilities, including use of drones and other aerial technology.
