Artemis 1 moon mission will carry 2 water-seeking cubesats | Space

When Artemis 1 launches, hopefully on Aug. 29, its primary mission is simple: test the brand new Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, the Orion spacecraft, and the ground systems at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

But that means Artemis 1 will be headed for the moon , an opportunity not to be missed, so it will be taking with it 10 secondary payloads. Two of those are cubesats designed to search the moon for water: Lunar IceCube and Lunar Polar Hydrogen Mapper (LunaH-Map).

Sonification and sound design for astronomy research, education and public engagement | Nature ...

Over the past ten years there has been a large increase in the number of projects using sound to represent astronomical data and concepts.

The two videos show a static visual representation of the data with an audio track presenting a sonification of the same data. Top: simulated noiseless signal. This is how the gravitational wave data would appear if there were no noise (that is, no interference).

The Big Bang didn't happen | Eric Lerner » IAI TV

The Big Bang Hypothesis - which states the universe has been expanding since it began 14 billion years ago in a hot and dense state - is contradicted by the new James Webb Space Telescope images, writes Eric Lerner.

To everyone who sees them, the new James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) images of the cosmos are beautifully awe-inspiring. But to most professional astronomers and cosmologists, they are also extremely surprising—not at all what was predicted by theory.
