#SpaceWatchGL Opinion: ISU SSP22 Special – It's Rocket Science, but not as we know it !

In a way, such contemporary polemics are the essence of the Space Science Department at the 2022 International Space University's Space Studies Program (SSP).

The SSP is a long-established, nine-week, itinerant ( international ) program for Graduate Students started in the late 1980s by three idealistic students. They proposed a noble institution devoted to the study of Space (thereafter, ISU ) for humanity and, most notably, for peaceful intentions.

How did Earth's continents form? The answer lies in space - SCIENCE News

Earth today has seven continents that combine to form less than 30 per cent of the planet's landforms, while 70 per cent remain water. The continental evolution has been the result of plate tectonics and crustal movements for millions of years, giving the planet its current landscape and ...

A new study, however, indicates that it all began with a bang, providing the strongest evidence that Earth's continents were formed by giant meteorite impacts. These impacts were prevalent during the first billion years of our planet's nearly 4.5-billion-year-old history.

How scientists solved the space component the | EurekAlert!

In space engineering, the electronic component layout has a very important impact on the centroid stability and heat dissipation of devices.

First of all, the author introduced some preliminaries to establish a basis for the research. The component layout optimization problems (CLOPs) was formulated as the expensive constrained optimization problems (ECOPs).

Solar burst from 'hole' in the sun may trigger geomagnetic storms | Space

An intense series of eruptions on the sun may trigger a strong geomagnetic storm on Earth Thursday (Aug. 18), spawning stunning aurora displays farther south of their usual polar regions.

Space weather forecasters are still waiting for the two CME's to reach NOAA's Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite, about 1 million miles (1.5 million kilometers) away from Earth toward the sun, to get an exact idea of the strength and direction of the magnetic field carried ...

Look! New Webb Telescope image reveals a rare galaxy close to the Milky Way

Raw data from the James Webb Space Telescope has yielded a stunning image of a nearby galaxy, with a little help from an unofficial photo processor.

"I chose NGC 1365 since that was the most recent interesting target that the Space Telescope Science Institute, or STScI (the organization that runs JWST) released public images of," Redditor u/SpaceGuy44 , an astronomy graduate student at a university in California, tells Inverse .
