A video explained what would happen if a star as massive as the Sun enters the Solar System. According to the video, this would trigger a series of catastrophic events that would eventually destroy Earth.
A video recently released by the YouTube channel What If explored the idea of a rogue star moving across space to enter Earth's neighborhood. Once this happens, the star would first pass through a region filled with icy space rocks near the edges of the Solar System known as the Oort cloud.

Antarctica bombshell: Scientists head to Antarctica to unlock secrets of the solar system |
Researchers from the University of Manchester will spend six weeks at the south pole where they will search for iron meteorites. The small lumps of iron represent the early remnants of the solar system and small objects which failed to form into planets. The team will be analysing a 15-20km square region of Antarctica, mainly looking beneath the surface.
As the meteorites hit the ground, they are still piping hot from where they collided with the atmosphere, melting the snow around them as they land on the ground.
The Roland Jupiter-8: the fattest synth in the solar system
In the 1970s and early 1980s, manufacturers of synthesizers were engaged in a battle. Not necessarily in price, though that definitely came into it. They were in a desperate race for innovation in analog technology . This was the environment that spawned Roland’s Jupiter-8.
In a few short years, digital technology had gone from being a spec on the horizon to looming menacingly large in the pro audio industry. The winds of change were blowing strong and in the last few years leading up the digital takeover , the art of analog sound reached its zenith. The Jupiter-8 represented the best of analog polyphonic synthesis, combined with premium playability.
SolAmerica Energy installing 2-MW solar system at salad dressing facility
Conagra Brands has entered into a 15-year service agreement with SolAmerica Energy to place eight acres of solar panels on the company’s St. Elmo, Illinois facility property.
The energy generated by the PV array will be equivalent to the amount needed to produce approximately 35% of all Wish-bone salad dressings as well as Log Cabin and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrups which are produced at the facility.

The 2-MW system is being developed under the Illinois Shines initiative, a state-administered incentive program supporting the development of new solar energy generation in Illinois. Under the program, the renewable energy credits from the system will be purchased by Ameren Illinois .

Wash U Scientists Study Moon Ice To Help Astronauts Explore Solar System | St. Louis Public Radio
Space explorers could someday use the moon to mine for elements needed to make rocket fuel on the moon, making it a launchpad to other worlds.
But first, scientists need to study the moon's ice deposits. A team of astrophysicists at Washington University has received a $7 million agreement with NASA to study the origins of lunar ice, ammonia and methane over the next five years.

Recent images from NASA spacecrafts have shown signs of ice in shadowy craters near the moon's poles. When water is split into hydrogen and oxygen, that can be used to make rocket fuel, said Ryan Ogliore, a Wash U physics professor.

What if another sun enters the Solar System... this video takes aim at it
An online mini-documentary series discussed what would happen to Earth and its neighbouring planets if a star as massive as the Sun suddenly appears in the Solar System. According to the series, having two Suns within the same system would set off various cosmic events that could lead to the complete destruction of Earth.
The unfortunate and terrifying scenario was tackled in a recent video released by the YouTube channel What If . The video explained that this kind of event could happen if a rogue star drifts towards the Solar System.
Mira Mesa Homeowner Caught In Solar Flare-Up - NBC 7 San Diego
Mira Mesa homeowner Peter Nguyen was told exactly that in May of this year. Nguyen was then asked if he had considered getting solar, and if so, he could get a package deal.

The install was completed the following month. In September, Nguyen got approval from San Diego Gas and Electric to power the system up.
“We didn’t see any electricity generated,” Nguyen told NBC 7 Responds. “We waited and waited and I tried to call in several times and see why we didn’t see anything.”
