The hope is Didymoon will become the first natural object in the solar system to have its orbit shifted by human effort enough to measure the difference.
Didymoon is 525 feet (160 meters) across, or about the size of the Great Pyramid of Giza, and it orbits the half-mile-wide (780-meter) main body of Didymos.

The European Space Agency has officially confirmed a mission designed to help humanity work out how to protect Earth from the danger posed by apocalypse asteroids.
Space ministers from European nations gathered at a conference called Space19+ in Seville, Spain, where they approved the Hera asteroid mission, which will send spacecraft to a space rock called Didymos – a binary asteroid made up of two objects orbiting each other.
This is 'part of the Agency's broader planetary defence initiatives that aim to protect European and world citizens' from space rocks.

So when experts say the Earth has more than one moon, they do not necessarily mean there are two or more of the giant white rocks in the sky.

On occasion, these minimoons can fall into Earth’s atmosphere, producing a fireball as they do.
A team from the Curtin University in Australia established six cameras across hundreds of kilometres which monitor fireballs in the Australian outback.
Using the cameras, the researchers were able to determine that one fireball, which hit on August 22, 2016, was a minimoon.

The name Moshup comes from a native American legend of a giant named ‘Moshup’ who warned the Native Americans to not let the European settlers comes ashore.
The Native American’s ignoring the warning, decided to help the new comers who had landed on Plymoth Rock by giving them corn and turkey over the cold winter of the colonists first year in the New World.

Japanese Asteroid Probe Tests Ion Engine for Journey Home to Earth | Space
A recent test of the ion engine that powers Japan's Hayabusa2 spacecraft went well, clearing the hardware for full-on operations soon, mission team members announced late last week.
"This trial run has not had any problems, and the preparations for the ion engine operation during the cruise phase of the return journey are complete," the official Twitter account of the Hayabusa2 mission stated on Nov. 28 .

Ion-engine operation for the return cruise to Earth will start on Tuesday (Dec. 3), a key date for the Hayabusa2 mission.

The robotic spacecraft pulsed its control rockets Wednesday to begin moving away from asteroid Ryugu at approximately 0.2 mph (9.2 centimeters) per second, beginning a slow departure that will culminate in the activation of the probe’s ion thrusters to reshape its trajectory and target arrival at Earth in late 2020.

Scientists have claimed our planet was recently hit by one of these mysterious rocks, which exploded in a gigantic fireball.

It will either whirl around the planet harmlessly forever, zoom off back off on its journey through the solar system or, in the worst case, smash into our planet.
