In early days of America's space program, two men met over a bottle of Jack Daniel's at the Hay-Adams hotel across the street from the White House.
It was roughly 1959, when the future of America's young space program was clouded by technological disagreements.
On one side of the bottle was Wernher von Braun, the engineering genius who had developed the world's first ballistic missile for Adolf Hitler during World War II. He had once been a member of Hitler's Schutzstaffel, or SS, but now ran NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.

With the excitement and interest in the newly discovered 'mini-moon ' found orbiting Earth, astronomers quickly set their sights on trying to get more details, to determine what this object actually is.
Using the Gemini Observatory in Hawaii , a group of astronomers captured a clearer view of this so-called Temporarily Captured Object (TCO), named 2020 CD3. The image, above, was obtained on February 24, 2020. It shows a tiny pinpoint of light against trailing stars.

China's Rover Finds Layer of Dust Almost 12 Metres Deep on The Far Side of The Moon
The first rover ever to visit the far side of the Moon has discovered a layer of lunar dust up to 12 meters (39 feet) deep.
The rover and its lander, which sits in the Moon's Von Kármán crater , are part of China's Chang'e 4 mission. Their landing there on 3 January 2019 marked the first time any spacecraft had ever visited the far side of the Moon without crashing.
The rover measured the Moon's surface dust with radar for the first time, and researchers from China and Italy described the results in a paper published Wednesday in the journal Science Advances .
NASA's VIPER moon mission to seek out lunar water slips to 2023 | Space
The agency announced plans for the new VIPER mission (the name is short for Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover) in October 2019 as part of the Artemis program to land astronauts on the moon by 2024. VIPER is meant to map water ice on the moon , which exploration planners hope could be turned into drinking water and rocket fuel. At the time of the announcement, VIPER was due to launch in December 2022, but the planned date has now slipped to the next year.
Moon calls on Japan to fight coronavirus together - Nikkei
SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Sunday urged Japan to work with his country to contain "the crisis," referring to the growing outbreak of the new coronavirus in a speech commemorating resistance to Japanese rule more than a century ago.
While the president urged Japan to "squarely face the past," he did not refer to various issues that have soured bilateral ties of late, such as lawsuits seeking compensation for South Koreans forced to work for Japanese companies during World War II.
